It's nice to meet you! My name is Maddie Butcher and thanks for visiting my local business! 

A little bit about me: I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication from Baldwin Wallace University and my master’s degree in Research and Theory in Communication Studies from West Virginia University. I was driven by a desire to understand how people connect, learn, and express themselves. For more than five years, I’ve worked in higher education as an instructor, academic support specialist, and academic advisor. This environment allowed me to teach, support others, and build meaningful relationships. My work is deeply fulfilling, and it helped me realize how much I value helping people grow in confidence and discover new parts of themselves.

At the same time, art and creation are where I feel most at home. Over the years, I found myself wanting to bring my love of creativity together with my passion for education, building community, and having fun!

That’s how this mobile art business was born. It’s a way for me to combine everything I care about. I am here to encourage people, build community, and make creativity feel welcoming and accessible. MaddieTheMaker is here to create experiences that spark joy, curiosity, and confidence. Whether I’m working with children discovering their artistic voice or helping adults reconnect with their creative side, I am here to bring energy, guidance, and fun to your events, parties, and celebrations!

When I’m not planning events, dreaming up new projects, or creating, I’m at home with my husband and our two  wonderful cats, Winston Purrchill and Sindri. I find inspiration in the things I love most: arts and crafts, board games, movies, nature, reading, and video games. These interests keep my imagination full and remind me why creativity matters so much in everyday life.

This business is more than a service. It’s a reflection of the things that have shaped me and I’m grateful for the chance to share this with my community and help others discover the joy of creating.
